Recipes - Advanced Features.

If you've seen our Recipe Instructions you're ready to learn about Advanced Features, including:

  1. Recipe Subtypes
  2. Best Served With
  3. Email recipes
  4. Ratings
  5. Display by Search Page or List View
  6. User submitted Recipes.

Recipe Subtypes.
Click on Edit Recipe Subtypes

Click on Add Subtype

Add Subtype

Now when you’re Adding a Recipe you will see a checkbox list of Recipe Subtypes. These can be checked as you add or edit recipes.

Best Served With.
This feature can be used to suggest additions to the recipe. These additions can be favorite items of your own, or paid advertisements for local wines, bakeries, etc. A business logo or food picture can be uploaded to accompany the serving suggestion. Click on Edit Best Served with...


and then click on Add Item

Enter the Item name, and if there is an associated website and or logo, you may enter these. When you’re ready, click Update Recipe.

Email Recipes.
The email feature for Recipes works exactly the same as the email feature for Newsroom Plus. To use emailing features, please view the Newsroom Plus video.

Ratings.
Click Ratings are On to turn ratings Off and On.

When a visitor views a recipe, they can click on Rate This Recipe and assign from 1 to 5 stars.

Display Preferences.

Try both Search Page view and List View to see display options for your recipes. You can also choose how many recipes to show per page.

User Submitted Recipes.

While visitors are viewing a recipe, they can also click and submit their own recipe using a form that’s similar to the one you use to add your own recipes. The recipe will be emailed to the address that you enter in New Recipe Notifications.

When the email arrives you can evaluate the recipe and decide whether or not to post it on your website.

Recipes Build Your Online Community
It will take some time to create a large bank of recipes, but the process of adding recipes is simple. Once your Recipe list grows and becomes popular, you’ll have created an excellent community resource and a strong reason for making frequent visits to your website.
