Catalog Pages

Catalog Pages are an excellent organizing tool when you have many items such as photographs, paintings, products, or books. You can create thumbnails of your items and organize them as a gallery. When visitors click on the thumbnail it opens to a page with a larger image and as detailed an explanation as you want to createWith Catalog Pages you can create as many catalogs for as many groups of items as you wish.

Create New Category
To create a catalog, open your Control Panel and click on Catalog Pages.

To create a new category click on Add A Category.

A Standard Page appears. Give your new Category a Name, and then type the description that will appear at the top of the catalog listing. When you’re finished, click Update Page.

If you want to edit the description later, click on Edit Description. To add items to your category, click on Add/Edit Items

To edit an item, click on Edit Item. To add a new item, click Add an Item

Add an Item

  1. Give your item a name.
  2. As an option, you can give your item an identifying number.
  3. If the item has a price, enter it here.
  4. Choose a sort number to set the order in which the item appears in your catalog
  5. Upload a thumbnail. Click on Browse and find the image on your computer. The thumbnail size is a 90 x 90 pixel square image. If you have questions about resizing your images, see our Resizing Images instructions.
  6. Upload your main photo. This can be any size you want up to the width of your website.
  7. Enter Intro Text that will display if you are listing your items in a List View. This text does not appear if you are using Gallery View. See below for examples of List and Gallery views.
  8. Enter whatever description you’d like in the page editor area. You can upload other images or hyperlink to other pages from the display page. When you’re finished click Update Page.

The page now appears in the list of items. Continue adding items until everything is uploaded.

List View or Gallery View

Your catalog can be displayed as a list

or as a gallery.

Open Catalog Pages in your Control Panel and choose the Display Mode settings. Choose Gallery View of List View. Choose how many items to show per page. Additional items will automatically be shown on subsequent pages.
